Here's your sign to clean out the pantry... and the fridge... and your cupboards... and your countertops... We recently had friends stay for the weekend so I spent much of last week spring cleaning instead of baking. And in all honesty, it was time well worth it. I found ingredients in the back of my kitchen cabinets that I had been meaning to use for months (looking at you, vanilla bean paste). I have this awful habit of buying unique ingredients when they're on sale or they simply catch my eye and then somehow they slowly make their way to the back of my shelf along with my good intentions to use them. My list of "recipes to try" and "ingredients to bake with" is embarrassingly long with hundreds of recipe ideas on my list. I add more to the list every week than I'm able to remove from the list. I'm a list person, IYKYK. If your baking cabinet overflowing with half-used bags of flour and that one ingredient you swore you'd try last fall, you should really take a few days to focus on organizing and cleaning too. Spring is the perfect time to clear out the clutter, check those expiration dates, and get inspired to finally use what you have on hand. That jar of tahini? The gluten free flour mix you bought to experiment with? The scone pan you swore you'd use. Whatever it is, let’s turn those into something delicious. To help me tackle my chaotic kitchen and decluttering plans, I downloaded a checklist that will help me stay on track all year long - both in my kitchen and in my entire house. I love that it breaks down big tasks into small tasks throughout the week and each month, too. The Editable Cleaning Checklist printable I'm using is 25% off this month with code PRETTYSWEET – this code works on anything in the entire Small Batched Etsy shop too! Let’s make room for more joy and more cake (& more cookies) and all the love that comes with them. Happy cleaning, |

Ever wonder what yogurt actually does in your baked goods? The short answer: moisture, tang, and tenderness. 🥣 Why Bake with Yogurt? Yogurt pulls double (okay—triple) duty in your bakes: Fat for richness and softness Moisture to keep things tender Acidity to activate baking soda and create a better rise and lighter crumb It’s perfect for muffins, cakes, quick breads, and even pancakes! 🔁 Need to substitute? No problem. Here’s a quick list for yogurt swaps. Instead of Yogurt, Use: Sour Cream:...
Hey Reader! Say hello to our new favorite summer salad! 🌞💚 This Shaved Asparagus Salad is light, lemony, and full of flavor—no cooking required. After foraging for wild asparagus in our local area this past month, we've come home with almost 20 pounds (9 kg) of fresh asparagus.
