Hi Reader,

It's time to bust out one of my favorite seasonal ingredientsโ€”maple syrup! It adds such a warm, rich sweetness to everything it touches, from quick breads to cookies and everything in between. This week, Iโ€™ve gathered some of my favorite maple-flavored desserts to get you in the autumn spirit:

Why Real Maple Syrup?

Not only does real maple syrup add an irresistible flavor to your fall bakes, but itโ€™s also better for you than many other sugars!

Helpful Tips

While embracing the natural goodness of maple syrup, remember that it adds moisture to your bakes, so you may want to reduce other liquid ingredients slightly to maintain the right texture. The above recipes have already taken this into account.

Additionally, because maple syrup browns faster, you may need to lower your oven temperature by 25ยฐF or cover your baked good with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning while ensuring a fully baked center.

Storing Maple Syrup

Once opened, real maple syrup should be stored in the refrigerator to prevent mold and bacterial growth. Since cold syrup is harder to pour, place the jar in a bowl of warm water to bring it to a pourable temperature.
